A Day cutting post
Hubby said on Wed evening that if the weather was good we would go and cut some more shaggy cedar post for our fence in the back, we are building a fence for the little horses to have a place to run. Anyway when we got up yesterday morning weather was OK so we had breakfast which hubby fixed for me he is such a good man. Anyway, while I was getting ready he took the dogs out for a run and let the little horses out. Well by the time he got back in I didn't think the day was going to be a good day, he was upset at the dogs they wouldn't come back to him when he called, they were busy catching the little prairie dogs and they both did catch one, by the time he got them back he wasn't in a very good mood, had everything packed and ready to go to the BLM, decided to get the horses back in but of course they didn't want to get back in the round pin , we left them out and hoped they didn't go threw the electric fence while we were gone. Got in the truck and the truck wouldn't start, I was beginning to think that we should just stay home, before something major happened (like getting injured while cutting down trees) We stopped and got a couple sandwiches and headed out, so far so good. After driving for 10 miles or so, we noticed something crossing the road in front of us, got closer and realized it was four badgers, three made it across and the fourth one was ready to do battle with the truck it was pretty comical to watch he finally made it to the other side but still was backing up and making hissing sound to scare us away. We got to the site and hubby started cutting down trees they ask that you spread the branches around instead of leaving them in a pile help with the drying out and fire spread I guess anyway that was my job, and then I would carry or drag them back to the truck mostly drag. We were able to get 20 post this time so enough to finish out the fence, oh yea forgot to say about my great find, we found an old rusty culvert, it is about 15inches wide and 4 feet tall, brought it home and secured it in ground with rocks inside and we have plenty of rocks to stablize it then I got a plant to sit in the top of it. it is in the back yard with a barbwire ball, that I rolled up it was a find from the last time we were out, that is my backyard art, it looks darn good too. All in all our day was a good day we got alot accomplised and had enjoyed the day together.
